LNG je dobrá zelená cesta. V Beluši v časti Podhorie sídli dopravná spoločnosť Labant, s. r. o., ktorá si prevzala ďalších 5 ťahačov IVECO S-WAY LNG. S počtom 12 ťahačov na skvapalnený zemný plyn sa tak stáva jedným z najväčších autodopravcov s vozidlami na tento k životnému prostrediu ohľaduplnejší pohon.

LNG is a good green way

Ecological transport with LNG is a good green way.

LNG is a good green way. The transport company Labant, p. r. o., which took over another 5 IVECO S-WAY LNG tractors. With the number of 12 liquefied natural gas tractors, it thus becomes one of the largest car carriers with vehicles for this more environmentally friendly drive.

The pressure on road transport is increasing in the transition to lower emissions. Electromobility in commercial transport is the way for short routes in distribution in an urban environment. Liquefied natural gas is currently the best alternative to diesel engines for long-distance transport. IVECO has extensive experience with liquefied gas propulsion, which offers a great solution for the field of heavy freight transport in the form of the IVECO S-WAY LNG tractor.
“We already have IVECO S-WAY vehicles on LNG fuel in our fleet. And since they have proven themselves to us, we are expanding our car park with more,” says Jozef Labant, managing director of Labant, p. r. about.

Solution for carriers: IVECO S-WAY LNG

“We are pleased that IVECO’s experience with liquefied gas propulsion has been transformed into such a good solution for long-haul carriers. And that solution is the IVECO S-WAY LNG with a Cursor 13 NP engine with a volume of 12.9 l, a maximum power of 338 kW (460 hp)/1,900 min-1 and a maximum torque of 2,000 Nm/1,100-1,600 min- 1. The capacity of the LNG low tractor tanks has now increased from 270 kg to 310 kg. Which enables an even longer range – 1300 km. In the case of a standard tractor version with a tank capacity of 400 kg, we achieve a range of 1,600 km. Labant is our long-term client. And we are glad that IVECO brand vehicles are also participating in its success in road transport. The advantages of using LNG in long-distance transport are indisputable, and with the use of bioLNG they are even more ecological and economical,” says Miroslav Hnat, Business Line Manager – Heavy Range IVECO Slovakia, at the ceremony of handing over the new IVECO S-WAY LNG tractors.

BioLNG is a carbon (CO2) neutral liquefied gas. It is indistinguishable from natural gas and can be used in ecological transport without additional investments. We currently have three LNG filling stations in Slovakia – in Bratislava, Bytča and Prešov. “BioLNG is a highly sustainable version of liquefied natural gas (LNG) with almost exactly the same chemical composition. It is produced during an anaerobic digestion (AD) process, which breaks down organic matter (such as food or animal waste) in an oxygen-free tank to produce methane-rich biogas,” explains Peter Habo, CEO of bioLNG supplier Proprietary.

LNG is a good green way – Labant and IVECO

The beginnings of the Labant truck carrier date back to 1989, when the family business was founded by the Labant couple. The company continues to be developed by their two sons – Jozef and Andrej. Mrs. Labantová still takes care of the economy of the family business.

The largest customer in the early days of the transport company was the clothing company Makyta Púchov, which determined the direction of the Labant company and with which they still cooperate today. The transportation of textiles and ready-made clothes is therefore a leading service throughout Europe, they transport in exchangeable containers (they have 160 of them from the Kerex company – they also provide rental of containers) in destinations such as Germany, Spain, Scandinavia, Poland, the Czech Republic and Turkey.

The portfolio of services was gradually expanded to include a specialized car service and tire service, a towing service throughout Slovakia and the EU, as well as municipal services. In 1990, other commodities, including tires, were added to the transport of textiles. In 2003, the company was transformed into Labant, p. r. o., with managers Jozef Labant, Andrej Labant and Martin Chovanac. Today, the truck carrier Labant has 120 employees, 80 vehicles (70 IVECO brands) and 4 towing vehicles. The area also has its own service and car wash. The company has 12 IVECO S-WAY LNG-powered tractors in operation and now another 15 are coming, which is already a large fleet.

LNG is a good green way

IVECO believes in LNG and bioLNG and assumes that liquefied natural gas will be a successful alternative in long-distance road transport for at least another 10 years. LNG is an ecological fuel. During combustion, it releases much less pollutants into the air than coal, oil or other mined fuels. In addition, liquefied natural gas is purified – it contains 95% methane with a small proportion of other components (approximately 5%). LNG is therefore a very clean fuel with no toxic or corrosive properties. A carbon-neutral CO2 future in the form of bioLNG is a good prospect for hauliers who trust IVECO S-WAY LNG vehicles.
